Meet the Founder

Callum Cryans is a Commercial Manager with almost 2 decades of experience across contract negotiation, procurement, payment claims, variations, and project launch. He began his career as a qualified Quantity Surveyor working on building projects before moving to Australia, where he gained experience across major civil infrastructure projects including roads, tunnelling, rail, and water treatment. In May 2025, Callum founded CMC Contracts to bring a specialist, senior-level commercial management capability to civil infrastructure & building contractors, without the overhead of an in-house team. Founding CMC Contracts, a services business, is what led Callum to develop the AI-Native platfrom, CAAi

Experience

Chief Product Officer — CAAi (April 2026 – present)

Founded CAAi, an AI-native SaaS platform built for construction businesses. Here Callum leads product strategy, design, and delivery from customer problem to shipped feature. He drives continuous improvement across design and UX to ensure the platform remains intuitive for users, while shaping the roadmap in line with the realities of construction contract administration. Callum led CAAi through its launch in April 2026 and is currently overseeing its evolution as the platform grows.

Industry experience - Prior to May 2025

Prior to launching CAAi in 2026, Callum built his career across major Tier 1 civil infrastructure projects throughout Australia. He made the move from South Africa in 2017, joining the NorthConnex tunnelling project in Sydney, one of Australia's most complex road infrastructure deliveries. From there he expanded his experience across roads, rail, building, and water infrastructure projects, working with leading Tier 1 contractors on projects of significant scale and complexity. His final role before establishing CMC Contracts (a services business) was in Project Launch, where he was responsible for the commercial mobilisation of multi-billion dollar infrastructure projects across the country.
